Connect Crito

Add Crito to your assistant once, then use it in your usual chat. There is no software to download. Until Crito is listed in the marketplaces, add it with the server URL below.

Choose your assistant:

• Claude
• ChatGPT
• Gemini
• Perplexity
• Other agents

Setup has three parts: add Crito, sign in to your Crito account, and select Crito in a chat. When you sign in, Crito guides you through account creation and plan selection if needed.

Keep this guide open in a separate tab while you set up your assistant. Use the copy button on the server URL to avoid typing it.

If your organization manages your assistant, its administrator may need to allow the connection.

Claude

Custom connectors are available on Claude Free, Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. The Free plan allows one custom connector.

Add Crito

1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
2. Choose + Add, then Add custom connector.

3. Name the connector Crito and paste this server URL:

   https://mcp.crito.fyi/mcp

4. Choose Continue to check the server.

5. Keep the detected settings and choose Add.

Connect your account

Adding the connector saves its settings. You still need to connect your Crito account.

1. On the screen that says You’re not connected to Crito yet, choose Connect.

2. Follow Crito’s prompts to sign in or create an account, choose a plan if asked, and select Allow access.

3. Return to Claude. A Disconnect button on the Crito connector page confirms that your account is connected.

Use Crito in a chat

The connector page shows Tool permissions. With Needs approval selected, Claude asks before using a tool. You can keep this setting and approve requests as they appear.

1. Start a chat. Open +, then Connectors, and turn on Crito for that conversation if it is not already enabled.
2. Ask a research question, such as Find R v Jordan, 2016 SCC 27, and include a source link.
3. Approve tool use when Claude asks, then check the sources in its answer.

You can name Crito in your question to make your choice of source clear, but it is not required.

Claude Team and Enterprise

An organization owner must add Crito first. Open Organization settings → Connectors, choose Add → Custom → Web, enter the server URL above, and choose Continue. Keep the detected sign-in settings, then choose Add.

Each member then opens Customize → Connectors, finds Crito, and chooses Connect to sign in with their own Crito account.

ChatGPT

Use ChatGPT on the web. Account and workspace rules can limit access to custom connections. If you cannot add a server, ask your workspace admin to allow it.

Add Crito in ChatGPT

1. Open Plugins.
2. Choose Add (or +), then Add custom MCP server.

3. Enter Crito as the name and Canadian legal research as the description.

4. Under Connection, paste this public server URL, including /mcp:

   https://mcp.crito.fyi/mcp

5. Choose OAuth authentication.

6. Read the risk warning. If you agree, select I understand and want to continue.
7. Choose Create as a plugin. You may need to scroll to the bottom of the form.

Connect your ChatGPT account

1. Follow the sign-in prompts for your Crito account.
2. Check the requested access, then select Allow access.
3. Return to ChatGPT and review the tools it finds. Install the Crito plugin if prompted.

Use Crito in ChatGPT

1. Start a new chat.
2. Type @ in the message box and select Crito.
3. Ask: Find R v Jordan, 2016 SCC 27, and include a source link.
4. Approve tool use if asked, then open the source link in the answer.

If Crito does not appear, return to Plugins and check that it is connected and installed. Then start a new chat and select it with @.

Gemini

Use Gemini on the web to add Crito as a custom connector. Crito works with Gemini through Google Workspace. If your organization manages your account, its administrator may need to allow custom connectors.

Add Crito in Gemini

1. Open Customize in the left sidebar.
2. Select the Connectors tab.
3. Choose + Custom beside the search field.

4. Paste this server URL into MCP Server URL:

   https://mcp.crito.fyi/mcp

5. Choose Next and follow the connection prompts.
6. On the Crito site, sign in or create an account, choose a plan if asked, and select Allow access. You will return to Gemini after setup.

Use Crito in Gemini

1. Start a chat, type @, and select Crito.
2. Ask: Find R v Jordan, 2016 SCC 27, and include a source link.
3. Approve tool use if asked, then open the source link to check the answer.

Perplexity

You need Perplexity Pro, Max, or Enterprise. If your organization manages your account, an admin must allow custom connectors.

1. Open Account settings, then Connectors.

2. Choose + Custom connector, then Remote.

3. Enter Crito in Name and paste the server URL into MCP Server URL:

   https://mcp.crito.fyi/mcp

4. Set Authentication to OAuth and Transport to Streamable HTTP.

5. Read and select the acknowledgement, then choose Add.

6. Open the Crito connector card. Sign in with your Crito account and allow the connection.

Agents

Your agent must support remote MCP servers, Streamable HTTP transport, and OAuth sign-in. Follow its setup guide for the exact configuration format.

1. Open your agent’s MCP settings and add a remote server named Crito.

2. Use this server URL with Streamable HTTP transport and OAuth authentication:

   https://mcp.crito.fyi/mcp

3. Complete the browser sign-in with your Crito account and allow the connection.

After you connect, you can name Crito in your request to make your choice of source clear. For example:
